With an aging parent who needed a private home with the amenities of a typical home or apartment, the decision was made to build a “Tiny Home” adjacent to an existing garage/shop. Oregon has adopted a Tiny Home code into their building code and the city of Hood River has embraced an increase in density combating urban sprawl. With increased housing prices and the need for additional smaller, affordable housing, a Tiny Home was a good option.
This project is complete with kitchen facilities, laundry, walk-in shower, main level bedroom, sleeping loft with closet and storage, plus a south facing patio area off of the living area, effectively doubling the living space during the late Spring, Summer and early Fall months.
